Senolytic therapies—drugs that target and destroy aging cells—are being trialed for age-related diseases. NAD+ precursors, which fuel cellular energy production, are widely used among longevity enthusiasts. Stem cell therapy, once an experimental field, is becoming increasingly accessible for tissue regeneration.

If individuals remain productive well into their 80s or 90s, traditional retirement models may no longer apply. The financial strain on healthcare systems could be alleviated if chronic diseases such as Alzheimer’s and cardiovascular disease are delayed or prevented altogether.

But longevity science is still in its infancy. Many of the interventions Asprey promotes are experimental, and the long-term effects remain unknown. Critics argue that while biohacking holds promise, much of the research is still preliminary, and the risk of unintended consequences—whether metabolic imbalances or unforeseen genetic interactions—cannot be ignored.
